This is a test of your psyche. It will not prove or disprove how well-adjusted you are, how badly you might’ve been messed up as a child, whether or not your parents were divorced or single. It is simply something to have a little fun with at your next party. What is the scariest, creepiest, most disturbing, horrific, outrageously frightening, startling and just plain wrong character in the entire universe? Is it Frankenstein’s monster? Is it a witch or a vampire? Is it an alien or perhaps a zombie? No, it is not. It is a clown… Nothing is scarier.

Remember the Book and a Movie Written by Stephen King?

Which one, I know. We are of course referring to the book and movie called It, starring Tim Curry as the sinister, evil, menacing, pointy toothed clown. If it is your intention to have a haunted house party this Halloween, never mind having some ghoulish creepazoid answering the door, when guests arrive. Just have the good old clown from It, who went by the name Pennywise for some reason, welcoming your guests with that toothy grin and foreboding laugh. Considering some adults’ aversions to clowns however, don’t be surprised if some of them hightail it back to their car or run screaming into the night. If they do you have successfully fulfilled your obligation as a Halloween party host or hostess. You scared the living… um, bejeezus out of them. And now you have one or more less mouth to feed! See there, it’s a win-win situation. If of course your friends are brave, or foolish, enough to make their way past Pennywise you are still completely and totally obligated to supply them with the appropriate appetizers, ply them with drinks, and still somehow manage to scare about 10 years off their life.

It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To

Since all the rage these days is zombies, the walking dead, you may want to have your self a little monster ball with zombies from every walk of life in attendance. People can come dressed up or they can dress-up on scene. Be sure however that in order to have the creepiest haunted house party ever you have sites and frights around every corner. And don’t forget the obligatory scary ‘something’ behind the shower curtain. Trust me when I say, people look! You may even want to assign one or more people to stand behind that shower curtain, they could do it in shifts, and really scare the crap out of your guests. Hey at least they’re in the right room for it!

What? I’m just saying. It isn’t truly Halloween if someone doesn’t make your hair stand on end, scream or at least cry out in shock and surprise.

Halloween is one of those holidays that often times will have many different traditions behind each of the individual games that you might play when you are attending a Halloween party. If you are thinking about attending a Halloween party and you were asked to figure out a few different Halloween party games, then you need to sure that when you present a game you know the history behind the game. Some of the games are going to be very unique and you might find a funny superstition or a prediction behind the reasoning of the game.

Finding Halloween Games

If you have never had to come up with a Halloween game, then the Internet is always going to be the best place for you to figure out what type of Halloween game you would like to play when you go to the Halloween party that you have been invited to. Always be sure that you understand everything there is to know about the games so if you are asked a question or two you will be able to answer them with an answer.

Funny Stories

The cool thing behind all of the different Halloween games is there is always a funny story or a meeting of why the game is played the way it is played. Be sure you have a description or a story to tell everyone that is participating so everyone can have more fun and know that there is a rhyme and a reason to the madness of the Halloween game.

Halloween is a fun time of year, therefore you should always have fun with all of the different Halloween party games. You will have a great time at the party and you will be able to play your Halloween game, and also be able to tell your Halloween story for everyone to love.

Sort of an odd little title, no? I mean one would preferably want to make completely sure that before one dealt with an apparently dead body in an officially postmortem manner that the individual was officially deceased, would one not?

Are You an Eco Friendly Individual?

Well for all of you that consider yourselves ‘save the earth-ers’ or ‘tree huggers’ or just concerned citizens you may want to throw the idea of green funerals (with the obligatory green caskets) up a flag pole and see how many in your family salute it. Not all families want to do away with the traditional pomp and circumstance that frequently take place at funerals. Shouldn’t it be up the individual themselves, however? One can merely hope that once you’re gone, someone will honor your final wishes. Get a lawyer; make a will. That’s all I’m sayin’. Once you’re gone you’re going to have to resort to haunting your executor if they screw it up!

When is Dead…Dead?

A certificate of death is usually required and an individual technically qualified of making such a call is normally needed to determine the official time of death (an EMT or paramedic via phone communication with the emergency services MD, a doctor, the medical examiner, etc.) before anyone can even think about the death certificate. Imagine introducing embalming fluids to a still alive body! (I think there’s an urban legend about that.) No chemicals are used, however, in a green, eco friendly funeral; ergo the brief viewing. Burial either at sea, in a cardboard/wooden box, and cremation are all technically considered to be green funeral procedures. No headstones or other unnatural markers are used in green underground burial; though sometimes people will plant a tree to mark the spot and scatter the ashes of a cremated loved one.

Just a note of caution: be careful where you scatter those ashes. Some areas frown upon it. I just read a book in fact, that contained a brief bit about an elderly woman who smuggled her dear deceased husband’s ashes into an official county rose garden park, baggie by baggie, every morning until she had delivered all the goods! (I would never, however, recommend this…in writing.)

October 31st is just around the corner and marks one of the most popular holidays of the year; All Hallows Eve or Halloween. It is one night of the year we can don a costume and become far removed from our normal hum drum lives. Halloween to some is even more exciting than Christmas! Many start planning their Halloween parties and costumes well in advance of October. Any concert held near Halloween has got to be the biggest and best of the year and there are two musical acts that have the holiday well in hand: Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson!

Never a Dull Moment

Rob Zombie has been around the music world for many years and has contributed numerous albums of macabre, gravelly vocal styling’s that send chills up anyone’s spine. From the grave to the crypt Rob Zombie is heavy metal’s grim reaper. His unmistakable vocal quality is truly unique and his lyrics will haunt you for days! No other musician embodies the heart of Halloween like Rob Zombie…unless you include Marilyn Manson. Manson is truly a show stopping performer that shouldn’t be missed. He has made concert performances headline news since he first started strutting with his unusual personae around a stage. These two performers are the perfect choice for a Halloween concert event!

Best Venue in Town

These two scary songsters will be performing at one of the best concert venues in the country this year; the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. Truly, the Mohegan Sun Arena Schedule reads like a who’s who of the music world! Everybody who’s anybody will be performing this year at the Arena. Bob Dylan is holding his “Never Ending Tour” there and will be performing new and remembered tunes of his 50+ year career. Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull will be performing Thick as a Brick for the first time in concert since 1972; also Gotye and the Wanted with their infectious tour will be there. Enrique Iglesias And Jennifer Lopez bring a Co-Headlining tour to Mohegan this summer.

In my childhood neighborhood there were many areas set aside for the children of the community to gather for a day of fun. These playgrounds offered a variety of play equipment and children spent many hours enjoying all that was available. Because the neighborhood was rather large the ages of the children was broad. Infants, toddlers, grade school aged children, pre-teens and even some teenagers who still enjoyed the playground experience.

Do You Remember?

These neighborhood playgrounds were designed to accommodate specific age groups and moving from one playground to another was somewhat of a right of passage. The infants and toddlers area had scaled down slides in bright colorful hues, sandboxes and swings that cuddled their small bodies and protected them from falling. As a child moved from the “little’ playground to the “big kids” area, a certain sense of independence and maturity was prevalent. Moms and dads no longer pushed you in the swing, you could climb up the high ladder on the slide that curved around as it dropped, and there was a mystic aura about the grade school age play area. With this aura came stories passed on from one group of kids to the next about playground feats that were “unbelievable”. These playground legends grew in detail and each group added their own twist to the stories. The children slides where phenomenal speed was achieved or bottom of slide pile-ups were beyond description fostered many playground legends.

Promises and Secrets

Of course the legends of the pre-teen and teenage playgrounds were sort of hush-hush. Everyone knew that things happened, giant slides were conquered, swings flew high into the air as their passengers rode together, against all rules. Many other dare devil tricks never too be revealed to “outsiders”, but relished by those that were there and sure to be remembered for years to come.

Do you love Facebook, Evernote, your phones handy apps? If so, there’s a high probability you already are or are at risk of becoming saturated by social media. While this is inevitable for most everyone in society as this technology continues to gain in popularity, it is having a surprising effect on the movies and television Hollywood is producing.

Distraction from too much media influencing our tastes

It may surprise a lot of people to know this, but being distracted by too many things on social media (jumping from one status to another, from one video to another, not spending too much time on any particular site), can directly influence the kinds of movies we like. It can actually make us crave familiarity, or so the experts say. They claim that the saturation of social media management by so many people is actually the direct reason why Hollywood has been producing so many fairy-tale based movies.

Where the monomyth comes in

Whether it’s Game of Thrones, the remake of Snow White “Once Upon a Time,” or the upcoming remakes of “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Hobbit” and “Maleficent” (based on Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty“), you do not have to look far to find a movie in Hollywood that’s based on a classic fairy tale, or rather based on the classic idea of a “monomyth.” This term was coined by Joseph Campbell in 1949. He that claims most stories from most civilized countries in history follow the same “hero overcoming an evil foe” story line. Experts say this classic form of storytelling gives us comfort in a world of not being fully connected to any one thing anymore.

With social media not a trend but something that’s here to say, it will be interesting to see if fairy tale-themed movies continue to persist.

You might think it is very difficult to track anyone that used to play football, but it actually is not very difficult at all. Most football players that had a wonderful career usually will attend the NFL Super Bowl each year. Therefore if you are hoping to run into your favorite football legend then you have a very good chance of doing that because when the football legends attend the Super Bowl usually before the game starts there is a huge area with all of the legends and celebrities there at a booth for fans to get autographs and pictures. Therefore if you are thinking of attending the NFL Super Bowl thing you should probably get working on tickets for this exciting game.

Looking For Super Bowl Tickets
This is going to be slightly difficult especially since the Super Bowl tends to sell out rather rapidly. Another thing you need to be aware of is the fact that the tickets will often times caused a great deal of money. If you do not have much of the budget then you can also start placing bets as well on your favorite team. If you plan on placing a bet on a Super Bowl team for the year 2013 you need to be aware of a few things. First you need to start looking at all of the 2013 Super Bowl props so you can get educated with all of the statistics of each team. Then you need to look into finding a website that is solely specializing in the Super Bowl. You want to bet on Super Bowl 2013 so be sure the website you are interested in is doing exactly that.

Hunting For Your Tickets

What you need to do is go to any Super Bowl site and see what links and options you have when it comes to purchasing a Super Bowl ticket. You are going to find several websites listed on the Internet, but you need to find the websites that are legitimate and are selling tickets that are valid. Every year there is a huge problem with Super Bowl tickets that are fake, so be sure you are not a victim to some horrible scam.

Getting to see your favorite football legend is going to be a wonderful experience. Enjoy your time at the Super Bowl and hopefully you get an opportunity to take a photograph with the famous legend you have been following.

Everybody wants to help save the planet by going greener, but before you reach for wind turbines and solar panels for your business, learn what common thoughts are myths and which are fact so that you can make the right choice about going green. If you are a business trying working towards your LEED Green Power Canada certification, then you need to separate fact from fiction so that you will earn the mention you deserve.

Green Power Myths

There are several common thoughts out there that people accept as truth, but they are actually a myth. The first myth: Wind turbines take up too much landscape. This is wrong, because wind turbines are actually spaced far apart on land so there is still plenty of room for farming, grazing, livestock, gardening, and more. Another myth is that wind and solar power are more expensive than traditional forms of energy. This is also wrong because electric companies that bought tons of stock in wind turbines have saved millions of dollars, thus locking in a low price for you. This is good news, because it encourages more people and organizations to go green. It is true that in the future, the cost of wind and solar energy will go up, but thanks to these forward-thinking utility companies, the cost will stay down for a while.

Now is the time to stock up on your wind turbines and get renewable energy work for you towards your certification. It pays as well to go on Bullfrog’s website and learn more about certification before you begin to take steps towards your commitment to going green. You should also educate yourself as thoroughly as you can about green living, green power, renewable energy, and what it takes to maintain your energy. Wind farms and solar power are growing in popularity, which is a good thing for the environment and for your business, but it is always best to educate yourself on something that can dramatically save you money and energy power so that you can get the full range of benefits, and thus pass the incentives and savings on to your customers. Why not start a green power revolution and encourage your colleagues, customers, and competitors to join you in this movement to reduce their carbon footprint? Make it a goal and a competition to see who can become certified first!

Putting cash in the collection plate as it is passed around the congregation is fine. Writing and placing one of your religious personal checks into that collection plate just sort of helps drive the message home.

Let People Know What You Think And How You Feel—Silently

Yes it’s true, the Bible does say to go forth and spread the word. But that doesn’t work for a lot of people because they are either shy or simply have a hard time stirring things up—which religion can do on occasion. With a checking account that utilizes personal religious themed checks however they can get the word out strongly but silently. With psalms, proverbs, crosses, beautiful landscapes or other words of inspiration printed across your checks you can get the word out to anyone and everyone who might possibly come across that check throughout its travels.

Use Your Checks For A Gift

We’ve already discussed the gift you give the church; what about the gift that you give to a loved one or friend? It’s so hard to buy for some people that it makes you not want even bother with shopping. Good news! Writing someone a check containing a religious message of inspiration or comfort can be not only a generous gift but more personal than a boring, generic check. When included with a personal card or letter, this kind of gift can speak louder than any store bought piece of merchandise.

If you tithe a percentage of your income every year; don’t forget to write that on your religiously themed checks as well.
