Monster, is this kind of creatures really exist in this world?
Hmm.. Curiosity really comes out in our mind, why there are lots of unfamiliar creatures. Are this all creatures comes from people’s imagination and creative mind or it really exists? If it yes, well, I think the world must not be beautiful also, it must be scary too. As what I’ve seen in the movie, read in the books hear from people’s mouth, monsters are really scary and dangerous. Scary because they don’t really look good, well, monsters don’t have the same looks as what humans too. But unlike human, monsters appearances are not the same with those other creatures called aliens. Aliens have thin body while monster have sharp teeth, long horn, a very sharp claw and a big and hairy body. Actually, that’s what I read in a book or watch in a movie. And you know what I think? If they really exist, I will never ever go out in the house if the night comes. Because as I know monster eat flesh, and if they seen a human walking around in the dark place, he will grab it and bring it to his hide out and eat it. And I don’t want to be called monster meal.
Monster are now being popular in mostly movies, and children’s really put in there mind that a monster that they’ve seen in the television is really real. But for many people, it was just made by a creative mind that a people should not believe in.

There is a condition called Cutaneous Porphyria. It is a hereditary deficiency in the body’s enzymes that causes severe light hypersensitivity, whereby if the person is exposed to any light, they feel excruciating pain and their skin can bubble and break out in blisters. As well as some other symptoms Porphyria also causes the sufferers gum’s to deteriorate.
Now you know the facts, lets add it to the myth. Vampires can not go out in sunlight, they sleep in coffins, can not see themselves in mirrors, and drink blood. In the old days, there was no treatment for Porphyria, all sufferers could do to avoid the pain would be to only venture out in the dark of night. They would wear dark clothing so that light is absorbed and not reflected, and looking in a mirror meant there was light to be able to see your reflection, so of course would never look in mirrors. On top of this, they would have to sleep in boxes during the day to ensure all light would be blocked out while they slept, and would have looked an awful lot like coffins. As you can imagine from the lack of exposure to the sun, their skin was extremely white. And because their gum’s deteriorate, their teeth would also look extended, much like fangs. Now here’s the kicker. The only relief these sufferers could get for their pain, is a dose of those enzymes that their body’s were unable to produce. There was no medical technology in those days that could create those enzymes and inject them. The only way to get access to those enzymes, was in blood. Some sick individuals may have started drinking the blood of small animals to get this relief, and then carried on to humans. The best place to get a blood from a human to drink it, is the jugular vein, which is located in the neck.
Is this all starting to look familiar to you?
I have no idea where the idea of super strength, hatred of garlic, and the crucifix come in, but I’m sure by now you can see how a simple medical condition, through a lack of understanding has become transformed into this romanticised version of vampires
