Vampire. We always hear and watch that in the movie. But is there any evidence to prove that it is really true? There are some people really believe that vampire is true and some are not. But do we really know and understand what vampire is?
Vampires are a blood drinking creature at the night. They are stronger when the night comes and of course they will just wake up in the night because at day time they are asleep.
Vampires are a word conjures up images of suave, handsome or strikingly beautiful creatures. They are just a mythological or folkloric being. It is also describe as undead but it could be a living person who is a witch.
Vampires are often described as having a wide variety of additional powers and character traits, extremely variable in different traditions. According to some tales, vampires sleep in coffins, often coffins filled with earth. Some vampires can supposedly change into bats.
The common thread in all vampire stories is that the creature must feed on human blood to survive, most common way why human change into vampire is they being bitten by another vampire. Vampires are also described as immortal, they have there own great strength. But aside from having super strengths they also have some weaknesses. They can’t expose to sunlight, staking through the heart can kill them, beheading and burning. Typically vampires are described as nocturnal, using the cover of night to conceal their activities and avoiding the sunlight, which is often described as harmful to vampires.

Okay, in my personal opinion, I think vampires were conjured up because of people with hemophelia. They require blood transfusions because their bodies do not make enough to sustain themselves. Back in the old days during all the witch hunts, ect, I’m sure they drank blood because it was easier to get that way rather than having to find a needle, a donor, and some hose or whatever for the transfusion. If my memory serves correctly, I think Hemopheliacs are even sensitive to sun..I could be totally wrong too..Just look up Vampire Legends and how they got started. They say there is always some kind of truth behind every legend though. So, maybe Im wrong as well. I mean come on, whoever thought they would discover water on the one planet that was supposed to be the hottest of them all, Mars. Now, not only is it NOT the hottest planet, but they say it’s able to sustain life if prepared correctly.

vampires didn’t start with twilight, thank the goddess. glittery vampires? i don’t think so. stephanie meyer can eat me. she’s a terrible author. i can’t believe someone was stupid enough to publish her work. if you want to get a good feel of how long vampires have been around, do some research. there’s websites (though i don’t trust all of them) that state that there’s legends in just about every nation of the world. each culture has their own vampire lore. the idea of vampires didn’t get popular until bram stoker wrote dracula. come on, how many vampire legends have you heard of before the book/movie? ever since then there has been numerous amounts of literature published (i.e. anne rice, christine feehan, etc.) and films (i.e. dracuala, van helsing, etc.) produced. vampires are like everything else out there — they can be merchandised. thanks to ms. meyer they’re back in the spotlight but only because her publisher must be a pre-teen girl who likes reading nothing more than topics on pedophelia. =/

I have been led to believe that the vampire stories began with Vlad the Impaler (Prince of Wallachia), who was actually a prince, and impaled the turks whom he was fighting against, on stakes. He lived in Romania in 1431 – 1476, and even lived in the castle mentioned in Dracula. Bram Stoker based his story on this during the Victorian period, and since then, Vampire stories have been very popular.

I hope if vamps are real, one comes & bites me & takes me over to his/her side. To be free of my pain would be a blessing. All that aside, read some of Anne Rice’s books for a more ‘realistic’ take on vampires. Twilight is ok, but is much more of a joke, so unbelievable. Now “Interview with a Vampire”, the “Underworld” trios, or even “Blade” trios, now there are some good movies, the 1st one being my favorite. A tortured soul, not wishing to be vampire, but still doesn’t take his life & somehow copes & thinks deeply about it all. I also like the ‘Vampire Diaries’ cuz it is very well written, doesn’t pan to just a young audience like the “Twilight” series does. Just my opinion….
