vampires didn’t start with twilight, thank the goddess. glittery vampires? i don’t think so. stephanie meyer can eat me. she’s a terrible author. i can’t believe someone was stupid enough to publish her work. if you want to get a good feel of how long vampires have been around, do some research. there’s websites (though i don’t trust all of them) that state that there’s legends in just about every nation of the world. each culture has their own vampire lore. the idea of vampires didn’t get popular until bram stoker wrote dracula. come on, how many vampire legends have you heard of before the book/movie? ever since then there has been numerous amounts of literature published (i.e. anne rice, christine feehan, etc.) and films (i.e. dracuala, van helsing, etc.) produced. vampires are like everything else out there — they can be merchandised. thanks to ms. meyer they’re back in the spotlight but only because her publisher must be a pre-teen girl who likes reading nothing more than topics on pedophelia. =/
